Programs
WAAM’s work unfolds through three core programming pathways, each designed to preserve, share, and activate the creative legacies of women and non-binary artists in South Florida.

Reframe/Refocus
Our legacy preservation platform, Reframe/Refocus, is where we collaborate directly with artists to digitize their studio archives. These materials are published on our publicly accessible digital platform, ensuring that Miami’s cultural memory remains visible, discoverable, and preserved for future generations.

Exhibitions
WAAM’s exhibitions bring these digitized archives into communities across Miami. By pairing archival materials with artworks and oral histories, we create opportunities for the public to engage deeply with artists’ stories, practices, and contributions.

Artist as Archivist (A/A) Residency
Our A/A residency supports artists who are documenting community histories across Miami. Through mentorship, resources, and archival training, the program empowers artists to preserve the cultural narratives that shape their communities.
